I like this pram. It's easy to use, light, comes with a separate bassinet (which we used in until bubba turned 3 months when she started getting big for it) and there's lots of room for baby to sit in. It comes with a cup holder, there are 3 seat reclining positions and it comes with a basket to store things in beneath the pram, the seats are reversible, the handles are a bar going across and are adjustable and soft. The canopy covers a lot and has a mesh part which you can peek through and is detachable. Another part it comes with is a bar whi. Read more ch my baby loves as she always places her feet over it lol And it comes with a rain and cover as well as a weather cover too (like an outer blanket) And looks pretty funky too! After using this pram for a year I have noticed some disadvantages though. For instance, where the attachable cup holder is positioned isn't the best.
Mamas & Papas offer the best quality in prams, pushchairs, car seats, nursery furniture, baby clothing and toys & gifts. Understanding parent and baby.
It's on the side of the pram and the amount of times I scrape past things and I have even had to remove it to fit through aisles etc. There's these Velcro parts at the bottom of the seat (around where the babies feet are) which attach to the frame of the pram - these always detach and it looks cheap when you see one part of the foot sticking up. Getting accessories for this pram isn't as easy as going to a specialty baby shop and purchasing it - for instance I want to get the food tray which can replace the bar however they don't sell them in Australia. And I also lost the protective cover which covers bubs from wind etc and trying to get a replacement is hard.Easy, lightweight, reliable, funky, spacious for bubs, reversible seat, comes with bassinetPosition of cup holder, Velcro constantly detatching, can't get certain accessories in Oz, and hard to get replacement parts. Great looking! New born bassenette works really well for bed time and cruising streets in. Filding starts to get dufficult partner oiled joints better than ever to fold.
Great basket drink holder ect. Toddler seat spacious spacious spacious! Cosy and breathable in summer with netting option on hood. High chair at coffee shops turn facing table pefect.
Older son can stand on edge walking to school. Cannot walk at all on grass front wheels are too thin. If u run press buttons on wheels for straight pushing then no wobbling occurs. Read more ers painfull have to put back foot on to lift and over step edge. If you live in the suburbs gorgeous pram, not suitable for country living. Easy to wash need lrg boot if your not into taking wheels off to compact it each time. I was tossing up to buy a steel craft strider or the skate and I chose the skate but regretting now.
It is twice the price, the wheels buckle if you go over a certain speed, seats bouncy, bassinet needs the same security as the strider (Velcro that goes around bubs tummy). Not very happy considering the price would think it would have been a lot better. It is a good pram if you don't want to exercise while pushing your pram.
Although it is very easy to fold but you can only purchase peg perego capsule for travel system which is quite expensive and heavy.Lighter in weight, easy to fold, easy to push (skates along), reversible seatWheels buckle when walking fast, seats bounce, handle is loose after tightening. I absolutely love this pram, I have the 09 model & I can't complain. The bassinet feature is fantastic especially since I was going to work with my son, he was able to sleep comfortably in my office.I love the 3 seat heights, it's perfect when going out, it means I don't have to use a high chair.I've noticed people have said its bulky, when in forward facing seat mode, I just put the whole thing in my boot no problems & I have a Nissan pulsar. The one negative I will mention is the weight of the pram, it gets a bit much on the back. But other then that it's the best pram I've bought.Height settings, ease of handlingWeight of stroller.
I have had this pram for 1.5 years now and would highly recommend it. The bassinet had lots of room and was deep providing lots of protection for my winter baby. I would walk to the shops daily and load up the area underneath with groceries with no problems. Supermarket carry baskets fit easily underneath to save holding a basket and pushing pram. The bassinet also worked as a great overnight crib for few trips away.Once using the stroller seat there is still ample room underneath but this is limited when child is facing forward however gen. Read more erally my son prefers to face me and this only really matters when grocery shopping. The hood provides lots of sun protection with a mesh visor at the back for ventilation and to view the child when forward facing, this is very handy feature.Overall would highly recommend this pram. It is very easy to move around and narrow enough to go most places. So many options with height and forward/rear facing/ handle bar height means both my husband and I are comfortable.extremely easy to steer, narrow frame, 3 height adjustable, several recline positions, large hood for sun protection, baby forward and rear facing, fit loads of shopping underneath.
All accessories included, drink holder, rain covertakes up a lot of boot space but ok if you have sedan/wagon. Occasionally if on very uneven road surface (cracked footpaths) bassinet would shake and move baby forward so need to go very slow in these cases, no problems on flat or indoor surfaces. I gave this a 5 star rating back in July when we bought it. I've since completely changed my mind. It's probably a problem with this specific pram - just out of warranty when we bought it - and I suspect that's why it was sold. When we unfold our pram, it has two click positions - one low (too low for my tall husband to use) and one high. From the 'higher mode', however, it clicks down to the lower position within a few minutes use.
Sometimes the whole frame goes lopsided. This collapsing motion happened once while I was crossing a 6-lane road.
Read more and I couldn't manoeuvre the pram! Luckily I was able to back off just before the lights changed. It probably isn't a problem for a shorter person who doesn't need the taller height.Googling around it's not an uncommon problem. Frame is dated October 2010. The frame is completely riveted together, so any internal cabling (to collapse and open the pram) is not accessible. It seems anyone who has had this problem has had to have the entire frame replaced. So if you're outside of the warranty period when the problem occurs, you're in trouble.I also had to chase around with multiple phone calls and emails until I found the Sydney repair shop.Seemed well made when we tested itCollapses, causing a potential safety hazard. I have the same pram and I have the same 'lopsided' problem.
I have had the pram for 22 months and there are lots of things I love about it but it's always had a sloppy frame. Eventually it became un. Read more usable due to the knee on the right hand side giving way.
It has just been repaired under warranty (even though it was long out of warranty which was great). Apparently the parts are very difficult to source and now i find the opposite side needs replacing to 'even up' the pram as we are now listing to the left. It seems it is a common problem and the Skate is no longer being produced. Perhaps for this reason? I have used this pram for 7 months now and I love it.
It is very easy to maneuver. The basket underneath is huge and I love the fact that you can just remove it when you get to the car and not worry about unpacking it before folding the pram. I also love the variable heights of the seat. My son can be quite high and I find this great.
I still have my son facing me and he loves the interaction. When he is ready I will turn it so he is facing outwards.
The only improvement that I would suggest is to make the sun hood even bigger or allow it to 'follow the sun'. But I have worked around this,so it isn't a show stopper.Looks great, smooth ride, easy to push, features, accessoriesSecond seat doesn't have sun cover, bigger sun hood. When i reviewed this pram it was over 1 year ago and the write ups where really positive and had a 4.5 star rating now its down to 3.5 star rating. This pram is unsafe and i don't know how it passed Australian saftey guidelines. I will be making a complaint to the ACCC and The Department of fair trading and product safety.
Do not buy this pram it may harm your baby!It looks good and it worked well with the car seat.Well where do i start. I wanted this pram so much and i had a huge fight with my husband over the price but he got me one and bo. Read more y do i regret it.The bassinette is so rocky and bouncy. If you put you baby to sleep in the bassinette you have to put the harness on or he/she will slip down the end and their legs will cramped up and their little face will go under the covers and nearly suffocate your baby.My baby girls is 9 months old and if she sits right back her head goes in a angle because it is too short in length. Worst of all is the 'Freedom of movement harness' what an absolute joke. When the harness is out of the slot my little girl falls forward and hits her head on the carry handle but if you take the carry handle away she flips forward and is hanging with the harness straps scratching her delicate skin until i push her back.
My little girl is a mover and can move the shoulder straps down and nearly stand up and fall out of the pram. My husband caught her the other day before she fell to the floor.
My husband rang head office and they haven't got back to him yet. I hate this pram!!
Hi, I have also had similar issues with this pram. My daughter thrusted her body forward over the safety bar (shifting the centre of gravity) and the pram tipped over. I caught it just in time before. Read more it hit the floor. My daughter was 8 months old and in the bottom 5% for her weight and height, I would hate to think of what would have happened if she was any bigger. How did you go with ACCC and Consumer Affairs? I also believe this pram is unsafe and am unsure how it passed safety standards. I also researched prams prior to buying it and also wished I had of purchased something else.
I wish this pram lived up to what it was on paper. Even halfway!
It is not only disappointing but downright dangerous; between the bouncing seat/bassinet, the rediculous freedom of movement harness and the shallow seat depth, it is downright scary to use. I can put up with the size and weight of the pram. It is quite heavy and bulky, as others have mentioned, but I took that into consideration when I bought it. I still love the functionality of having baby face me and up nice and high. Even if I could put up with all the issues though, the pr. Read more am is now too short for my average height 12 month old so I have to replace it. I really couldn't recommend this pram to anyone. On paper and in theory this is an awesome pram.
I love the functionality: the ability for the seat to tranform from bassinet to seat (2009 model), baby can lie completely flat and horizontal, can have the baby facing you or facing forwards, nice steering and big wheels, baby is high up in the pram, handlebars are height and angle adjustable. Having my baby high up has been fantastic. I can wheel the Skate right up to a table and he is the right height for it.
The bassinet is nice and deep and a good shape. The pram itself is a nice shape - the back wheels aren't too wide - and for this reason it fits places that a lot of other big prams don't. Unfortunately the negatives of this pram outweigh the positives, especially as baby has gotten older.I had to start using the harness quite early on even in bassinet mode because the pram and the bassinet itself bounce around so much. Once i was walking along with a blanket over the handlebars for my baby to sleep and i saw his legs had bounced their way out of the bottom of the pram!
He seemed to slip down in the basinet then the extra weight at the bottom put it on an angle, and he simply bounced out. My baby is 12 months old now and this pram is almost unusable. Firstly, the freedom of movement harness is completely useless. The back of it has a small slot which is supposed to slot into the seat cover - it comes out all the time and my baby flips forward and I have to catch him. I can't believe this wasn't a safety recall as it is very dangerous. I was having to leave him lying down in the pram to prevent this.
Recently I put the front bar on and started using just the bottom part of the harness like a 3-point harness so that he can sit up. I just have to be really careful because he can move around a lot. The seat is not deep enough, so my baby pretty much hangs by the harness rather than sitting.
I have adjusted the crotch strap length either way and it makes no difference. Now at 12 months he is too long for the seat as well, so he has to hold his head a little to the side when leaning back - and he is not tall. Only 50th percentile! Generally the build quality of this pram is pretty awful. We got the side pins fixed in the safety recall but the seat still bounces around like crazy. The studs for the basinet front cover have almost ripped out and the studs are reeeaaally hard to undo. I had this pram bought for me for our first child and overall its heavy, bulky and almost anyone who wants to use it will have to study the manual thoroughly first! While it looks good and does have some pros, i myself wouldn't spend this much on a pram that just isn't quite right for its price bracket.
Like many others i still can't work why my little man is to long for it so when he's sitting up he get a crooked neck and when he's laying down.well he can't do that comfortably at all. The bassinet may sound great but we found we had the. Read more put weight in the bottom just to keep the blood from running to bubba's head! It will rock and tilt constantly. Also like many others i find the 'freedom of movement' harness ridiculous!
He can wiggle out the harness and thus we find him 'totally free' to fall out of our moving pram!I am sure this pram can be good if you actually designed it and know the total ins and outs of it. At first i was left dumb founded about the harness and jilting bassinet not to mention all the clip here, slide there, pop this and zip thats! So enjoy a good looking pram by all means but just like fashion you'll pay the price.adjustable everything and machine washable.the harness, the bassinet and need to have 'pram degree' just to use it. Its bulky, heavy and can be to wide for shops. THis pram is extremely versatile given its ability to transform from bassinet to stroller as your baby grows and its needs change. The bassinet was wonderfully comfortable and much more padded than the bugaboo.
The height of bassinet/stroller is adjustable (unlike most prams) so at its highest, it is table height and protects the baby from people sticking their heads in as they always do. Didn't have to use the harness until bub was sitting up.

Read more t get stuck in aisles like you see so many people struggling with the Strider. The two part pram meant it was light enough for me to put away 4 wks after c-section.Handy cup holder can be removed for those extra tight spaces.I walk a few kms with it every day and it is still going strong.versatility, comfort from newborn bassinet to sit up stroller.squeaky suspension.
I have had the skate for 18mths and love it. Has been great for newborn and also good for my toddler.I like how well it can be used for baby and toddler. I have often used the bassinet on the floor when visiting people.
My toddler loves that he has freedo with the straps and i have NEVER thought he could fall out! Very spacious 't underneath for shopping. Love the adjustable handle and height of pram so I didn't have to bend too low for a newborn.A little bulky in the car, but comes apart an back together easily.
Had trouble after a lot of use getting it to stay in the flattest position. My skate came with a stroller seat and separate bassinet.
We have only used the bassinet so far. This pram is very easy to maneuver and eart to steer with one hand. Bub can face you or away. Easy to fold down and assemble. The Skate has storage space underneath (but not a bag) which I find convenient to put the green reusable shopping bags when I just need to get a few things.
You do need a large boot space. Comes with a rain cover which is easy to use.
I love this pram and can't wait for bub to grow and use stroller seat.Easy to use.Need large boot space to store. LOVE LOVE LOVE can't wait till babe comes along and we can use the pram- I love that not every second person has this pram, it's quite unique, unlike the ones you see everywhere - ie- Strider.!!!I have had this pram for a few months.but baby isn't due for 11 weeks. But I already love this pram.I have also bought the primo viaggio carseat. Everything snaps on and off very easily. Steering is amazingly easy.one handed even. I have the kiwi green colour which is awesome- and my car seat matches. The hood is huge, the rain canopy zips onto.
Read more the hood.which is a fantastic idea, it pops up so easily, I hate those prams you have to shake around, and hence probably damage to open!! I was also looking at the baby jogger but it is sooooo heavy to put in/out of boot. This one is much easier to manouvre.
Easy to fit thru doorways, not a wide wheel base like some prams. Definitely a winnerWe did trade in our car for one with more bootspace (and passenger space) as the pram is quite bulky. But thats hardly a con. I bought this pram after SO MUCH research.
It was a lot of money but came with all of the bells and whistles, and most importantly to me, my baby could face me. Fifteen months later and I still love it.
It is a dream to maneouvre and has many different settings for baby (height, incline) and parents (handlebar, incline). My toddler is as comfortable now as he was as a newborn. I am considering whether I need a stroller but cannot find something that comes anywhere near my Peg, so think we'll stick with it until he's no longer in a pram.I haven. Read more 't found a shopping aisle I can't fit through. Fantastically tight turning circle - almost spins on itself. Can turn to face you when bub is small, then turn around when you and your little one is ready. The rain cover and footmuff are also great.
When travelling, the pram doubles as a highchair as the height can be raised or lowered (very handy). Adjustable height and incline for handles (caters for different heights beautifully). The front wheels (which are smaller) can sometimes get caught, which is not dangerous, just annoying but doesn't outweigh all the great things. It's heavier than a lot of other prams, but can be loaded in and out of the car in two pieces, if necessary. A more secure basket underneath would be great. You can't run with it.
